Our House Build WAS Stopped Temporarily-Here's why. . .

I would have liked to tell you that the house is finished but everything was put on hold. Our builder threatened us with a lein and he walked off the job, quiting. So therefore our house build has come to a complete stop. We had to hire certified inspectors and they confirmed some of our fears. The wiring wasn't installed properly, the windows have to be redone, and the roof needs to be fixed. The plumbing has to be redone too as it may not be usable. They never wrote down measurements, so boards had to be added to the headers and footers of the window frames. He didn't really seem to care about the build and it showed in his work or maybe that is just the way he builds. The whole build was dragged out, sometimes they would only install one window in two days. There was a lot of standing around involved with the work crew. He was suppose to work with us, but instead he did not do one walk through the whole three months he was building for us, nor did he answer questions we asked. He was very intimidating and uncommunicative towards Mom, even verbally abusive. We sacrificed size, the house is only 922 sq feet, so we could have a QUALITY built home that would last a long time. But instead of quality, we have a lot of costly mistakes that have to be fixed to make the house even livable and safe. We are trying everything we can to resolve this, and we are determined to finish this house. We have nobody and we are nothing to them, just two women alone, who have nobody on their side so they feel like they can push us around and get away with it. Because we needed a home and had to invite a stranger into our lives to build the house we have to go through this? But we will do whatever it takes to finish the house.
